Dr. Matthew Goldsmith is a Professor of Pediatrics and an Assistant Professor of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine.  He specializes in Pediatric Critical Care.

Dr. Goldsmith joined the faculty of Washington University School of Medicine in 2002, after completing his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care.  Over the past 20 years, Dr. Goldsmith has served as the Director for the Pediatric Critical Care fellowship program, and for the past 9 years as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.  As fellowship director, he trained more than 40 pediatric intensive care physicians, including trainees from North America, Asia and Europe.  As Medical Director, Dr. Goldsmith has overseen the Pediatric Critical Care unit grow from a 24-bed to now 40+ bed ICU.  His focus is on delivering safe, and innovative care to the most critically ill and injured children, along with fostering the development of future leaders in the field of pediatric critical care, both at home, and abroad.
