Daina Dreimane, M.D. Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of California Irvine, Pediatric Endocrinology Specialist, Pediatric Specialty Faculty at Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Graduated from Riga Medical Institute with Honors in 1980.
Postgraduate training at the Texas Tech University health Sciences Center in 1996, and University of California Los Angeles in 1999. Board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology by American Board of Medical Specialties.
My previous academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at TTUHSC School of Medicine.
Clinical interests: type 2 and type 1 diabetes in children, diabetes technologies and practical applications, calcium and bone disorders. molecular mechanisms of endocrine disorders.
Throughout my career I have been actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and pediatric endocrine fellows.
Most significant research contributions: investigator of the NIH funded multicenter trial of treatment options for type 2 diabetes in youth or TODAY Study.  
Active member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society.
